Michael Costello FW15

I actually ran into Michael Costello in the elevator of the Empire Hotel right after his show. I immediately congratulated him on his new collection and told him how much I love his work. I love his response, “Thank you! Me too!” As a designer, that is the response you want to hear and the feeling you want to feel after debuting your work. What sort of designer doesn’t love their designs? Lets be honest. If you designed it, you’re probably going to love it, so you might as well say it! I love my scarves… That’s why I wear them all the time!

Anyways, as you can probably tell, I love to dress and live colorfully… but after moving to New York I have learned to appreciate the classic all black look. Most of what I had seen on the runway up until this show varied in color. Michael Costello’s collection was mostly all black with some splashes of grey in the mix. Usually I like a little bit of color to be thrown in the collection but I really enjoyed the darkness of this collection. Michael managed to make black fun and intriguing with his amazing cutouts and flattering silhouettes. I mean… can we talk about how sexy and flattering this black cut out lace top gown? I feel like this is a total #girlboss dress. I chose these 5 looks as my top favorites because they’re all so sexy yet fun. I love the detailing of the shoulders on the all lace gown and black pant romper. Michael really knows how to accentuate the best part of the woman’s body and to make any girl feel hot! This was my first time at Michael’s show and I am even more in love with him than I was already from Project Runway. Great job Michael! Way to prove Project Runway judges wrong 😉
