NYFW 2016 Day 1

Freezing in the city, yet hot on the runway

New York Fashion Week has arrived, and it began with a bang. After my pre-party pampering day I was ready to take on the madness of the first day of NYFW 2016.

My day started with heading to see my favorite creative stylists at Tresseme to get my hair done. I always have the best time connecting with the awesome Tresseme staff and meeting other influencers that are getting prepped for the shows as well!

After Tresseme turned my hair from drab to fab, I headed to the KYE show. This runway was full of excitement [to me] because some of my absolute favorite trends were making numerous appearances for the SS16 line. Some of my favorite looks included the bell-bottom velvet pants, and the over sized sweaters with gromets up the side. Gromets were a huge inspiration in one of my latest scarf designs known as the Glade Scarf.

Next up was the Jay Godfrey presentation. Y’all know how much I admire the Jay Godfrey brand! I always look forward to checking out their presentations to see what’s to come for such a beautiful label. This presentation blew me away. The set up was so intriguing and it really brought forth natural feels which were mixed with bold, modern pieces. I loved how the models styled scarves with their looks and the colors of this presentation really got my mind working for the seasons to come.

After taking in the stunning styles at the Jay Godfrey presentation, I headed to one of my favorite shows that I look forward to each year: Desigual. They always have such a fun, upbeat and colorful show and the audience always gets into the music, the models and the energy on the runway. You can click the links below to view videos I shot at the show! This set of styles reminded me of why everyone loves fall fashion in New York – it’s classic yet a reinvention with every layering piece, every pattern play, and each texture.

I have to of course give a shoutout to the people who make NYFW so fun in between all the craziness! Be sure to follow along my Snapchat [@lexiconofstyle] to check out videos of the shows I am attending. Also, a surprise for my readers…. this year, I am going to be putting together a NYFW 2016 video compilation of all the looks, video’s of runways and events for y’all! I am truly so excited to do this so you can get the full wrap up of NYFW in one place.

Be on the lookout for more NYFW 2016 coverage on the Lexicon of Style blog and Instagram!
