NYFW FW15 Look of the Day 5

Look of the Day at New York Fashion Week FW15 day 5

Sorry this took me a while to write about this post! My blog decided to breakdown on Friday and I didn’t get a chance to tell you a little bit about this look! I am working on future posts now and construction for my new site so I am going to have to make this a little quick and a bit informal—so sorry! But I do want to take a second to tell you about this vintage fringe leather skirt. This is another piece my mom let me borrow for NYFW.

It was actually my grandmother’s, Liki, skirt that has their home (Tamaulipas, Mexico) crest embroidered on the bottom. This skirt/outfit is especially dear to me because my Liki passed away this past Christmas. It was very special to be wearing an article of clothing that was so meaningful to her. Both my grandmother and mother are so fashion forward that most of all their vintage pieces are still in style today! Leather/suede fringe skirts and accessories are the most trending looks right now on the streets and the runway. My Liki was clearly ahead of the game, wearing fringe before its time. She was and still is such an amazing inspiration. Thanks to my trendy grandmother, this look made it on to Cosmopolitan’s website and Snapchat story for NYFW most glamorous street style!
