Friends Don’t Lie
Can you believe Halloween has already gone and passed? I seriously can’t!
In case you did not know, I absolutely love dressing up for Halloween. I believe it all stems from my passion for dressing up every since I was little. No joke, I use to dress up as American Girl dolls in the second grade TO SCHOOL (my favorite was Samantha), amongst many other fictional characters. I can’t help but laugh and thank my parents for always letting me be myself. There’s just something so fun about dressing up as someone else… Even if it is just for a day!
I also think my love for Halloween comes from my obsession with makeup. I love doing “everyday” makeup but it’s always fun to play around and create an entire costume with just cosmetics.
Below you can see all my looks from this year’s halloween and from the past two years. I decided to end my halloween escapade with Eleven from Stranger Things. If you haven’t watched the show… You are missing out! I seriously watched it all in one Sunday (guilty). The other two looks were thrown together very last minute because my Eleven dress hadn’t come in like I had hoped… So I had to come up with other looks until it arrived on Sunday.
- SNAPDOG- I used all different contouring products to create my nose. I used mostly my Maybelline Master Contour stick with my NYX contour duo. Then for the actual dark part of my nose I went in with my brown Wander gel eyeliner to add in some shading. I wanted to create the real effect of the dog filter so I contoured my cheeks very heavily using my MORPHE contouring kit and made my eyes look bigger using my new Stila liquid liner. I drew my bottom eyeliner way below my eyes and drew in some bottom lashes to create the visual effect of bigger puppy eyes. Lastly, for the ears, all I did was google “Snapchat Dog Ears” and I downloaded them from Esty for $2.00. Then I printed them out and taped the back with some masking tape, cut them out, and super glued them to a head band. VOILA! You are now Snapdog!
- Ace from KISS- This was definitely my favorite impromptu costume. My friends and I went to the Dream Hotel party Saturday night and we all needed something quick… So I thought we should all do KISS (but of course no one wanted to be Peter Criss because his make up is weird AF- no offense). So I opted to be Ace! I first outline my face with a KIKO shadow stick and then filled it in completely with Maybelline’s Color Tattoo Chrome shadow in silver. I topped my lid with purple NARS eyeshadow and filled my lips in with Maybelline’s Loaded Bold Lipstick in Pitch Black. A super easy, quick, and edgy costume!
- Eleven from Stranger things– I teamed up with amazing wig designer Zelda Hair for this look. I really wanted to create a believable and accurate representation of El. So I decided to go all out with a real human hair wig that I can wear even after Halloween because you know… some days I want to be blonde (really channeling my inner Kylie here). But for the makeup, I kept it really plain and simple but added in some blue and purple eyeshadow under my eyes to create that hollowed out look. I tried reshaping my eyebrows to be a bit more like hers and contouring my nose using Maybelline’s Master Contour stick to create her youthful button nose
- Kylie and Glam skeleton– Please refer to previous posts 🙂
What were your favorite looks? Do you think you’ll ever hop on board with the wig trend? I didn’t think so until I came across Zelda’s work. Her wigs are truly outstanding! People honestly didn’t know I was wearing a wig until I told them. If you live in the NYC area you should go check out her salon in Brooklyn to see them for yourself. I have a whole new appreciation for wigs now 🙂
